We read the book, Just Josie and the Perfect Day. It was about a little girl who wanted her birthday party to be just perfect, but it rained and only one friend showed up that she didn't want to come, etc. It turns out that the rain stops and she is able to go outside and have her party. There was also a rainbow! By reading this book, I was able to introduce colors and the color words to them by creating rainbows. We looked up at our color words and talked about the colors in a rainbow. They all created one on their own! You can see them hanging up in our classroom. They loved it!
