We read The Name Jar. It is an awesome book. We counted how many letters there are in our names.
We also came up with our class rules, toured the school, became acquainted with our classroom and procedures, and played a lot of name games to learn about our new friends.
Of course my kid was one of the ones who you had to capture a picture of individually! :) I have more blurry pics of him than "focused" pics...he's a quick one! :) I love these!
